All children aged 6-23 months
Adults aged 65 years and older
Persons aged 2-64 years with underlying chronic medical conditions
All women who will be pregnant during influenza season
Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
Children 6 months 18 years of age on chronic aspirin therapy
Healthcare workers with direct patient care
Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children aged less than 6 months

Welcome to Flu Shot Express
Flu Shot Express, a service of The Washington State Flu Shot Co., is a premier organizer of trip to flu shot immunization clinics in Canada for US Citizens from the greater Puget Sound area. Flu Shot Express provides chartered luxury bus transportation from King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties direct accross the border to licensed Canadian Medical Clinics. The Canadian Flu Clinic staff are licensed nursing professionals supervised by Registered Nurses and Physicians. Flu Clinic Policies and Procedures are based on the Canadian Center for Disease Control Guidelines.

At this time there is limited flu activity in Washington. Peak activity is not expected until February or March 2005. Continue to seek a flu shot into January or February. It is never too late to get a flu shot. Free parking may be available. Please arrive early. Look for the signs to direct you to the bus loading location. You are advised against receiving a flu shot vaccine if you have any of the following conditions:
1. Allergy to eggs
2. Allergy to thiomerosol
3. You are pregnant
4. Bleeding disorder (hemophilia, etc.)
5. Previous serious reaction to vaccine or vaccine components
6. Have a fever or feeling ill
7. Had a history Guillian-Barre Syndrome within 6 weeks after receiving a flu shot
If you have any questions or are unsure of any of these conditions or symptoms, please contact your personal physician before getting a flu shot. |
